On September 22nd, aespa released a trailer announcing the group’s return with their 5th Mini Album! Titled WHIPLASH, the album will be released on October 21st and will feature 6 tracks, including the title track of the same name.

On September 8, the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, was the stage for the 2024 The Fact Music Awards ceremony. The night featured the presence of several artists, including aespa.
The group shone and took home three trophies: Artist of the Year (Bonsang) — Listener’s Choice and the coveted Daesang. Additionally, aespa made history by becoming the first female act to receive a Daesang in the history of the awards. As if that wasn’t enough, they also teased their next comeback, which will be called Whiplash!

First of all, we are surprised and very grateful that all our hard work this year has been recognized with this award. There were times when the members weren’t in the best condition, and now we feel like we’ve been rewarded. We are incredibly thankful to our fans (MY) for all the support. During the ceremony, aespa captivated the audience with energetic performances of Supernova, Set The Tone, and Armageddon.
Earlier on September 8, KARINA, GISELLE, and NINGNING were spotted at Incheon International Airport on their way to Osaka to attend the 2024 The Fact Music Awards. WINTER was not present, as she had already traveled from New York to Japan.
On August 22, the 5th edition of the K-World Dream Awards took place at the Jamsil Arena. The ceremony was filled with emotional moments and incredible performances, featuring various artists, including aespa.
The group shone brightly that night, taking home three awards: Bonsang — Best Music Video (Armageddon) — Best Artist. They also confirmed that aespa is preparing for a comeback.
I believe the credit should go to our staff. I will continue to work hard so that we can create even better projects in the future. We are preparing something now, and we will come back with another amazing project next time.
After receiving the Best Music Video award earlier, we are very thankful to also receive this big award. We deeply appreciate our One Production team and all of our MYs. We promise to become artists who can repay the love you give us. We hope to be with you for a long time. We will also be making a comeback soon. It might feel a bit early, but we are eager to see all of you again. Once again, thank you so much.
